The Library’s Maps collection includes Fire Insurance Maps from 1898, 1911, 1927–1947, and the mid-1960s. (More Fire Insurance Maps can be found at McMaster University. Link to McMaster Maps page.) The Library also has Bird’s-Eye View, Pictorial and Surveyor’s Maps, which can show a building’s location within its neighbourhood and the city of Hamilton. These maps provide information about the layout of the city and changes in street names over time.
