The Hamilton Military Museum has some military medical items in its collection including uniforms, small medical items used in the field (such as field dressings) and even prosthetics. The collection spans from the War of 1812 to past the Korean War, with most of the medical items from the First World War era or later. The majority of the collection is in storage, but available for viewing by appointment.
Currently, there is a Nursing Sister’s uniform along with some small medical items on display in the First World War Gallery. This Gallery is located in the Coach House Gallery at Dundurn National Historic Site.
If students are studying something in particular they can contact the museum, who will do a search of files and database and get back to them to let them know if they have any relevant items.
