Hamilton City Directories, Census Records & Genealogy
The collection contains Hamilton City Directories from 1853 to the present.
- City Directories usually include a listing of residents, with their occupation and address.
- They also include listings of businesses, churches, schools, social organizations, and municipal services.
- Some of the earlier Hamilton directories (pre-1900) also include suburban areas and smaller townships and villages.
The Library also has a collection of directories dating from 1957 to the present for:
- Ancaster
- Burlington
- Dundas
- Stoney Creek
- Waterdown

The Hamilton Branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society has donated its research material to the Library. The collection includes books and genealogical resources covering Wentworth County, Canada, and international locations. Some of the resources are available online on the Library website.
