Station 1 of the Hamilton Fire Department offers a small museum featuring the history of the Hamilton Fire Department. The museum is organized chronologically, around major fires such as including the Fisher and McQuesten Foundry fire, the Moose Hall fire in 1944 and the Wentworth Arms Hotel in 1976. The museum includes equipment used by the fire station and firefighters.  The museum can be visited at the station by appointment.

John Verbeek of the Hamilton FD has written a history of the Hamilton Fire Department, Hamilton Fire Department: A Historical Look Back, which includes detailed information about major fires in Hamilton’s history and firemen who fought in the First World War.
